About this skill

Mixed-age events give this safeguarding lesson its specific setting. Use it to frame a conversation about the arrangements your team needs to understand before the event starts.

Ask participants to identify the safeguarding information in the event briefing and any questions they want clarified. After viewing, connect the discussion with the event’s policy, responsible contacts and reporting arrangements.

What to focus on

  • Identify the safeguarding arrangements in the event briefing.
  • Clarify who receives a safeguarding concern.
  • Discuss the questions staff need answered before the event.
